The initial trainings for dComFra project partners were organized in Kaunas, Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania), on 18-22 February 2019. Attended by 24 participants from seven Ukrainian universities, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Association of IT Professionals of Ukraine, the trainings were led by the representatives of Vytautas Magnus University and the Institute of Information Technologies (Lithuania), as well as the representative of the Carinthian University of Applied Sciences (Austria) being responsible for the project quality monitoring. The main goal of the trainings was to acquaint Ukrainian partners with the rapid development of digital competencies, emerging field challenges and their management in Lithuania, the main strategic documents and steps regulating European digital policy. Two webinars were organized during the trainings inviting the representative of the European ECDL Foundation (Ireland) Dr. Jakub Christoph and the representative of the Education and Science Digit, Science and Education Department at the European Commission in Brussels (Belgium). During the trainings the Lithuanian National Digital Coalition, its’ agenda and the tasks to be implemented were also presented.
The presentations were also delivered by the experts representing the Lithuanian Ministry of Economics and Innovation, the Lithuanian Confederation of Industry, Kaunas Science and Technology Park, the Association “Window to the Future”, and the National Distance Learning Association. During the trainings the visits to Vytautas Magnus University Faculty of Informatics and Vilnius University Kaunas Faculty were organized. The training participants were invited to visit the rector of Vytautas Magnus University prof. Juozas Augutis. The Memorandum of cooperation was signed during this meeting with Taras Shevchenko National University (Kiev) and Mikhail Ostrogradsky National University (Kremenchug) from Ukraine.
