Continuing the activities of dComFra project the trainings for partners from Ukraine were held in Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Villach, Austria, on July 8-12, 2019. More than 30 participants representing 7 Ukrainian universities, as well as Ukrainian Association of IT Professionals and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine were sharing their professional experiences.

The introductory speech at the trainings was presented by Andres Pester, the professor of the Faculty of Informatics at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, who also presented a comprehensive report by overviewing digital literacy skills in the digital age. Meanwhile prof. Edmund Huditz shared his thoughts on digital media, pedagogical and didactic concepts and their implementation in the Austrian education system. PhD Antonina Hammermüller introduced the theme “Digital competence frameworks for citizens and educators: European Good Practices (Austria)”. Prof. M. Hoffland presented the Centre for Didactics at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, focusing on its’ main goal – to support digital learning. Interesting experience on the integration of refugees was shared in the presentation “Open Class for Refugees” by prof. H. Kotschnig. Visiting prof. Hartmut Seichter from Germany presented the report on the opportunities and challenges of vocational training through the media. The discussion about new curricula and methods in informatics took place together with the prof. C. Madritsch.

The trainings included visits to Smart Labs at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and Lake Side in Klagenfurt Science Park which runs the interdisciplinary MINT program for students.

The trainings were attended by the representative of project partner – Information Technologies Institute – being responsible for monitoring the quality of the trainings.
